Jobey operates as a technology intermediary platform connecting Recruiters and Workers for short-term gig opportunities in India.

By registering, accessing, or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Please read these Terms carefully

They explain your rights and responsibilities when using the Jobey platform.

  1. Jobey is a technology intermediary platform that facilitates connections between Recruiters and Workers. Jobey does not act as an employer, contractor, agent, partner, or representative of any User.
  2. Use of the platform does not create any employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between Jobey and any User.
  3. Users must be at least 18 years of age and legally competent to enter into binding agreements under Indian law.
  4. All gig payments are solely the responsibility of the Recruiter. Payments may be made manually (including bank transfer, UPI, or cash) or through any future in-app payment system introduced by Jobey.
  5. Jobey does not process, hold, or guarantee payments made outside an official in-app secured payment mechanism.
  6. Workers acknowledge and agree that payment will only be received if the Recruiter successfully makes payment. Jobey shall not be liable for non-payment, delayed payment, partial payment, chargebacks, or payment disputes.
  7. If Jobey introduces an in-app payment or escrow system in the future, such payments shall be governed by additional payment terms and settlement timelines disclosed at that time.
  8. Workers are independent contractors and not employees, agents, or representatives of Jobey or any Recruiter.
  9. Users are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence regarding gigs, counterparties, and safety conditions before engagement.
  10. Recruiters are strictly prohibited from demanding registration fees, deposits, or unauthorized payments from Workers. Violation may result in immediate suspension and reporting to authorities where applicable.
  11. Users shall not post fraudulent, misleading, unlawful, abusive, harmful, or deceptive content. Jobey reserves the right to remove listings or restrict accounts at its sole discretion.
  12. Jobey may suspend, terminate, freeze, restrict, or investigate accounts suspected of fraud, misconduct, policy violation, or legal risk without prior notice.
  13. Platform fees, service charges, or commissions, if applicable, are non-refundable unless expressly stated by Jobey. Referral rewards are subject to verification and may be withheld or reversed in cases of misuse or fraud.
  14. Users agree to resolve disputes directly between themselves. Jobey may, at its sole discretion, review complaints or mediate but is under no obligation to do so.
  15. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jobey's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the platform service fee collected, if any, for the transaction giving rise to the claim.
  16. Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jobey, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from their use of the platform or violation of these Terms.
  17. Jobey shall not be liable for service interruptions, system failures, data transmission errors, force majeure events, third-party service failures, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.
  18. Jobey collects personal data including mobile number, profile information, bank details (where required), and identity verification data. Aadhaar details, if used for OTP-based verification, are used solely for identity verification purposes and are not stored permanently. Data is processed in accordance with Jobey's Privacy Policy and applicable Indian laws.
  19. Jobey may maintain activity logs, transaction records, and communication data for compliance, fraud prevention, security monitoring, and dispute resolution purposes.
  20. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Parties agree to attempt resolution through arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Subject to arbitration, courts located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  21. Users may submit grievances through the designated official contact provided in the platform. Jobey will acknowledge complaints within a reasonable timeframe and review them in good faith.
  22. Jobey reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform or these Terms at its discretion. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
  23. By selecting "I Agree," registering, or using the Jobey platform in any manner, users confirm they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.

Jobey collects personal information necessary to provide its services. This may include:

  • Full name and mobile number verified via OTP
  • Profile photograph
  • Work experience and skills
  • Business details (for recruiters)
  • Masked identification details such as the last four digits of Aadhaar or PAN for verification purposes
  • Bank account details or UPI information to facilitate payouts

Jobey does not store full Aadhaar numbers.

We also collect transaction-related and technical information including:

  • Payment amounts, timestamps, payout records, and payment gateway reference numbers
  • IP address and device information
  • Usage logs to improve platform functionality and prevent fraud

All payments are processed through authorised third-party payment gateways such as Cashfree or similar providers. Jobey does not store complete card numbers or sensitive banking credentials on its servers. Payment data is handled in accordance with the security standards of the respective payment processor.

Information collected is used to:

  • Facilitate job postings and applications
  • Process payments and payouts
  • Verify user identity
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent fraudulent activities
  • Improve user experience
  • Comply with applicable Indian laws

Jobey does not sell personal data to third parties.

User information is retained for as long as the account remains active or as required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention. Users may request correction or deletion of their information by contacting us, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
